Hon Sir:

In consideration of His Majesty's Government

consenting to the shipment to us of Pepper from Singapore we hereby give the following undertaking which shall re- main in force so long as Great Eriatain is at war.

e undertake not to dispose of any Pepper which we may

import from British Possessions, Protectorates, or Protected

States, other than by sale to dealers in the United States or Canada who will use them solely for their own manufac- turing purposes or resell to other manufacturers in the United States who will use them solely for their own manu-

facturing purposes.

We undertake not to export directly or indirectly to enemy countries or to neutral countries in Europe or to sell to others without satisfying ourselves that they will not export or sell for export directly or indirectly to such countries any other which may be or may come into

our possession.
